Service overview

One commercial layer across the robotics lifecycle

We support robotics teams before purchase, during pilot programs, and after deployment. That means helping you choose hardware, collect learning-ready data, stand up workflows, and keep systems operational once they are in the field.

Instead of managing separate vendors for sourcing, data, maintenance, and operational support, teams can use SVRC as one coordinated robotics partner.

Teams Using SVRC Services

Anonymized examples from real engagements.

University Lab

2,400 demonstrations in 6 weeks

A CMU robotics lab needed bimanual manipulation data for a Diffusion Policy paper. SVRC deployed two OpenArm 101 leader-follower stations with 3 camera views each. Two trained operators collected 2,400 demonstrations across 8 tabletop tasks. Data was delivered in HDF5 format, validated against their ACT training pipeline. The lab published results at a top venue 3 months later.

Robotics Startup

From zero to trained policy in 4 weeks

A Series A manipulation startup leased two UR5e arms and a teleoperation kit from SVRC. They ran a Campaign program: 100 demonstrations of a kitting task collected by SVRC operators, delivered in LeRobot format. Their ML team trained an ACT policy that achieved 87% success rate on first deployment. Total cost: $8,000 for data + $3,300/mo for hardware lease.

Enterprise

Ongoing data pipeline for fleet improvement

A logistics company deploying mobile manipulators across 3 warehouses contracted SVRC for ongoing data collection. Monthly campaigns of 500+ demonstrations cover new SKU types and failure edge cases. Data flows into the Fearless Platform for failure mining and retraining. Policy success rate improved from 72% to 94% over 6 months of iterative data collection.

Fearless Data Platform: The Infrastructure Layer

Manage your robot data, replay failures, evaluate policies, and close the loop from deployment back to training.

Data Management

Upload teleoperation episodes in HDF5, RLDS, or LeRobot format. Organize into versioned datasets with tags, splits, and access controls. Full lineage from hardware to model.

Episode Replay & Failure Mining

Replay any episode frame-by-frame with synchronized joint states, camera feeds, and gripper data. Automatically surface anomalous episodes and cluster failure modes.

Pricing

Research: Free (5 members, 500 GB). Startup: $249/mo (20 members, 5 TB). Enterprise: Custom (unlimited, self-host option, SSO, SOC 2).

FAQ

Common questions about robotics services

Do you support both lab automation and field robotics programs?

Yes. We support lab automation projects and operational robotics programs that need hardware sourcing, integration, maintenance, and iteration support. Our Mountain View facility handles lab-scale work; on-site deployments are available for field programs.

Can we start with one service and expand later?

Yes. Many teams start with data collection or repair support, then expand into leasing, integration, and ongoing operations as pilots mature. There is no minimum commitment across services.

Do you offer robotics repair in Silicon Valley?

Yes. SVRC provides robotics diagnostics, repair, calibration, and maintenance from our Mountain View, CA headquarters, with remote and on-site support options. Our East Coast facility in Allston, MA covers the Eastern US.

What data formats do you deliver?

HDF5 (ACT/ALOHA compatible), RLDS/TFRecord (Open X-Embodiment and Octo), LeRobot Parquet (Hugging Face Hub ready), and custom formats. You specify the format in your project brief; we handle conversion and validation.

What teleoperation methods do you use?

Leader-follower arms (ALOHA-style WidowX/ViperX and OpenArm setups), Meta Quest 3 VR, 6-DOF SpaceMouse, SenseGlove haptic gloves, and kinesthetic teaching. We select the method based on your task requirements for precision, throughput, and cost.

How quickly can you start a data collection project?

For standard tasks on hardware we have in stock: 3-5 business days from signed agreement to first collected episode. Custom robot integrations take 1-2 weeks. Enterprise projects with on-site deployment: 2-4 weeks.

What robots do you stock for leasing?

OpenArm 101, UR3e, UR5e, Unitree G1 humanoid, Unitree Go2 quadruped, and complete teleoperation kits. We also source and integrate additional platforms on request, including Franka FR3, xArm, and Kinova Gen3.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. We sign mutual NDAs before any project discussion involving proprietary tasks, robot configurations, or research goals. All data collected under contract is owned by the client. We do not retain copies or use client data for any other purpose.

Can you collect data on our custom robot?

Yes, if it is ROS2-compatible or has a documented control API. Ship us the robot or we procure one. Custom integrations typically take 3-5 business days. We have integrated 40+ different platforms to date.

What is the typical cost per demonstration?

$8-$35 per episode depending on task complexity, camera views, teleoperation method, and QA requirements. Simple pick-and-place: lower end. Contact-rich bimanual with dexterous hands: higher end. Volume discounts apply for 500+ episodes.

Do you provide data collection infrastructure consulting?

Yes. If you want to build your own collection capability, we offer consulting on station design, operator training programs, data pipeline architecture, and QA process design. Typical engagement: 2-4 weeks.

What is your coverage area for on-site repair?

Same-day or next-day on-site service in the greater Mountain View / Bay Area and Allston / Boston metro areas. Remote diagnostics and support available nationwide. For other regions, we ship replacement hardware and provide video-guided repair.
